These are works that are at times provocative, humorous, and defiant. Zoya Cherkassky was born in 1976 in Kiev and immigrated with her family to Israel in 1991. She places an unsettling mirror before Israeli society. “Pravda” is her first solo exhibition and includes some 50 paintings and 50 works on paper. They address her personal experiences and the collective experience of the million-strong Russian immigrant influx to Israel in the early 1990s. A trilingual Hebrew-Russian-English catalog accompanies the exhibition. Through October 2018 at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. www.imj.org.il/en/exhibitions/zoya-cherkassky live22
