Jewish Deli •

American Jews have imported traditions, adapted culture, and built community through the experience of food. The exhibit “‘I’ll Have What She’s Having’: The Jewish Deli” reveals how delicatessens became cornerstones of American Jewish food culture during the 20th century, evolving from specialty stores catering to immigrant populations into beloved national institutions. On view are neon signs, menus, advertisements, deli fixtures, packaging, and photographs while interactives invite you to engage with each other and your own memories of deli, with a special focus on some favorite Los Angeles deli spots. At the Skirball Museum in Los Angeles.
